Traveling Around the World
Weeks of 12/5/22 - 1/3/23
First Graders have been on a trip around the world for the past few weeks, making stops in India, Norway, and China to learn about celebrations during this time of year and the importance of light in those celebrations. In addition, we have learned a little about the culture and geography of each country, including a special visit with Mr. Rector who has spent time in India. We also incorporated learning about maps and some of their features into our travels.
We started our journey by applying for a passport and making our suitcases! Then we hopped on our first flight and flew across the ocean to land in India. From there we flew to Norway to learn about the northern lights and then to China to learn about the celebration of the Lunar New Year. Finally, we returned back safely to the USA! Check out your child’s suitcase and have them explain all of their maps, flags, and artifacts to you!
