First Grade Adventures from the Week of March 13, 2023

This was another week full of learning and fun!

Here is a taste of what we were up to this week!

We:

  • Learned the partners to 20 facts and connected them to the partners to 10 facts

  • Learned the -nk glued sound and reviewed the -ng glued sound

  • Read about some more amazing women who have done some amazing things and learned a new Word of the Week: persist!

  • Learned how to retell a nonfiction text as opposed to a fiction text

  • Continued with our Animal research and wrote three more sections: Body, Life Cycle, and Fun Facts

  • Began our new Organisms unit and learned about some special features that various creatures have

  • Both classes were treated to a Mystery Guest Reader for all of their reading homework!  Mrs. B’s class heard a story from Mr. Van Allen, and Ms. P’s class heard one from Mrs. West!

  • We all had a little fun on St. Patrick’s Day when we read a couple of fun poems and went on a search for gold around the room.

A snowy recess!
